How can intercultural living together become a reality that we actively build in our everyday lives? How can community-building bring people closer together in their diversity, and what role can volunteering play in this process?

Co-organised by the University of Luxembourg, the UNESCO Chair in Human Rights, and the Bahá’í Community of Luxembourg, this conference forms part of an annual gathering that brings together researchers, journalists, associations, and institutions. It provides a space for reflection and exchange on approaches and practices that can strengthen social cohesion in Luxembourg.

This year’s edition will welcome Talia Melic from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), who will present the findings of the study “”Area-based Initiatives to Transform Neighbourhoods: An International Policy Mapping (2026)””. Her contribution will explore how insights from local initiatives around the world can inform approaches tointercultural living together and community-building in Luxembourg.

A panel discussion bringing together perspectives from research, media, and civil society will then provide an opportunity to deepen these reflections and explore how volunteering, and collective learning can contribute to social cohesion.
