‘The Girl ith the louding voice’ (2020) tells the story of a 14-year-old Nigerian girl forced to marry an older man from her village. Despite countless obstacles, she fights to fulfil her dream of becoming a teacher and helping other young girls escape the same fate. This novel, written by Nigerian author Abi Daré, is both funny and inspiring.
‘This event offers a rare opportunity to discover this poignant story told by the author herself, exploring themes of resilience, identity and the quest for self-determination.’ The discussion will be followed by drinks.
